The daily musings of Kara Lennox, Harlequin romance author.
<-----Coming June 2008
The first in the Second Sons trilogy.
Cooper Remington has been overshadowed by his older brother his whole life. Now, an unexpected inheritance gives him the chance to strike out on his own. He is now the proud owner of a fishing charter service. But the beautiful redhead he finds living on the boat might have something to say about who inherited what.

In another life, I create and sell Memo-Pause(TM), the wearable notebook for the foxy but forgetful woman. Here are a few of the styles:
Rob and I did our workshop first thing this morning on Yes, You Can Quit Your Day Job. It went well, I think. We had a small but attentive crowd.
After that I attended the Harlequin American Meet-and-Greet where I FINALLY met my editor Johanna. She seems very nice. I also met a couple of other editors and LOTS of American authors I didn't know, including the inimitable Cathy Gillen Thacker.
Our luncheon speaker was Lisa Kleypas, who was funny and cute and inspiring. Then I spent the rest of the day schmoozing in the bar, visiting with old friends and making new. After the welcome reception, Rob and I attended the National Reader's Choice Awards where, alas, I did not win. But it was a fun evening and, though all losing finalists for any contest say this, I really mean it: It was an honor to be a finalist. Really.
I made a quick swing by the Moonlight Madness Bazaar, where I bought a travel coffee mug, and then stopped in at the eHarlequin Pajama Party, which is always fun. They serve yummy snacks--popcorn (my favorite) and candy bars.
The train ride home was nice, a chance to sit and relax before arriving home to a frantic cat. She acted like she was sure we had abandoned her forever! Poor little thing. Now I'm off to watch the Tour de France replay. I have no idea what happened, but I'll have to stay up 'til 2 a.m. to see the ending and I don't think that's gonna happen!
Thanks for reading,
