Kara: hey, Betty! Glad your house didn't sink! That would be a major bummer.
Betty Skelly: Hi Kara, been awhile I did not come here. I was busy, we went back to FL again and we got lots of sunshine. We missed the flood here in Northwest but I am thankful that our house did not sunk. We live in a hill and the house was built 1 foot up the ground. I called my friend if we have flood but then it is only at the bridge about 2 miles away from my home. Glad everything went ok. How are you? Got a new book working again huh! cool!
Garf: care to exchange link?
Kara: Hey, Betty! Good to see you. I gotta have the sunshine or I get very depressed!
Betty Skelly: Hi Kara, it is been awhile I did not visit you here but I was trying to read an updates. Happy thanksgiving and wished you have a wonderful time in CA. Wished I can get some sunshine. We are pretty much gloomy here.

Freaky sky from yesterday

  • Pages Written Today: 10
  • Where did I walk/ride? Around the neighborhood, 7530 steps
  • Treasures found: 1 nickel
  • Affirmation of the Day: I live my dream life now, not later!

The photo doesn't do it justice. It was freaky weather.

Another quiet day today. Clearly I don't have enough going on in my life. So I've decided to rent a beach house for a month, next fall in the off-season. You can really pick up some bargains on the Texas Gulf Coast if you go during weird times.

Rob thinks I'm insane, but I'm doing it. I've always wanted a beach house, but with the hurricanes being so prevalent lately I don't want to own one. And I think one month a year would be a good compromise. If it's for a whole month I can bring my babies (furry and feathered) with me. Most beach houses are equipped with WiFi--I just have to bring a laptop and some clothes.

I'm doing it.

I did the usual today--yoga (with the girls on TV), wrote my pages, watched the birds, went for a walk. Miracle of miracles, it hasn't rained today. Of course it immediately got hot! Rob was gone all day teaching bridge and T'ai Kwon Do.

I am very close to finishing my book. I am working on the climactic scene now! What fun.

Thanks for reading,
Kara

Wow...eerie picture.

You have me hooked on the owls... but it's breaking my heart. Damn it.

I'm switching to the wood ducks cam. At least that mama is sitting on her eggs.

Have fun writing The End!

Marianne--
Oops, sorry about getting you hooked. I feel so badly about the Texas owls, but I guess it's a common event, having a nest failure like this. They'll have next year.

This is freaky weather. There was flooding in British Columbia with still warnings of more flooding. There was hail, thunderstorms. Plus tornado warning in parts of Alberta. There was frost warnings and snowfall in Nortern Ontario. There were severe Thunderstorm warnings for Quebec.

Christa--
We've certainly had some freakish (for Dallas) rains here. Not that I'm truly complaining--I'm lovin' it!

Cate--Oh, oh, that would be so fun if you could visit. One of the things I really want to do when I'm down there is cook and entertain, but I'll have to either meet people real fast or drag my friends down! I'll let you know as soon as I have a confirmed date. I'm waiting on Rob to tell me when it's convenient.
