We missed the flood here in Northwest but I am thankful that our house did not sunk. We live in a hill and the house was built 1 foot up the ground. I called my friend if we have flood but then it is only at the bridge about 2 miles away from my home. Glad everything went ok. How are you? Got a new book working again huh! cool!

I'm a bloggin' fool

  • Pages Written Today: None unless you count the multiple blogs
  • Where did I walk/ride? To Bishop Arts, 8660 steps
  • Treasures found: 1 dime, 1 nickel, 7 pennies and a marble
  • Affirmation of the Day: I attract thousands of visitors to my blog!

I participate in two other blogs, the Harlequin American Authors Blog and the Romancing the Blog blog. By coincidence, my posting day for both of these blogs is tomorrow (or today) Monday, June 11. I hope you'll check out what I have to say. On one I talk about baby wood ducks. On the other I talk about "the next big thing." I would love the comments and opinions of my regular blog readers!

Instead of Norma's for breakfast, Rob and I walked to El Jordan Cafe where we normally get oatmeal a la Mexicana (with milk, sugar and cinnamon). But I veered off course today and got pancakes. Big mistake. Norma's makes the best pancakes; El Jordan the best oatmeal. I really should remember that!

I planted my herb container garden today. (Still no pix--I'll try to remember tomorrow.) It's really very pretty, and I'm going to try to keep it alive. My last herb garden, started from seed, was something of a disaster. Everything died thanks partly to my cat, who enjoyed sleeping on it. This time I bought plants and its outdoors, where the cat can't get it.

I also fixed quesadillas for lunch on the George Foreman grill, and they were so good I fixed them again for dinner. Just cheese and a few onions, peppers, squash and mushrooms. They were as good as the ones I get in the restaurants.

We watched a bit of cycling, then I became a real couch potato and channel surfed the rest of the evening. Yuck. Guess I'm gearing up for the big sprint to the finish. My book should be finished this week!

Thanks for stopping by,

Kara

Hi Kara. I checked out those links you provided. I didn't realize until I'd read several of the entries (one in particular made me laugh out loud; it was about abusing the Muse LOL) that I realized you hadn't posted yet. Still, I did learn a couple of things, so I guess it's not totally in vain, right?

It sounds like you're really enjoying your new grill; I just might have to look into buying one myself, if you keep talking about how good it grills things. LOL The herb garden is a different story; I don't have a green thumb. But it seems like you're having some success, so maybe you'd oblige us all and share your secrets - other than keeping the cat away from it, that is.

Here's a question for you, that you might wish to use as an entry, some time: How did you "meet" your Muse?

Take care, and have fun with your herb garden and your grill!

I love my grill. I have a Hamilton Beech. this one also fold out so I have twice the cooking surface. Some days I don't even have to dirty a pot or pan.
I get to spend the week at my sister's(I've actually been here since Thursday. They left for Winnipeg Friday) I'm house sitting and sat sitting. We had really strong winds here Friday which snapped a huge limb on the tree. I was able to cut most of the branches that were crushing the garden. I'm going out there today and assessing damage now that plants have had time to spring back on their own. Luckily there are no power lines back there and there was no damage to the house or fence or deck. That wouldn't look good on a house sitting resume . I also have to water her herb garden.

Christa--
Those fallen tree limbs are no fun. We've still got one in the back we haven't gotten rid of--the birds like to perch on it so I feel bad taking it away. It's kind of in a corner, away from things.

This is more a branch than a limb. Probably a good 30'-35' long and still aatached to the tree and defying gravity hanging about 30' upside down. so as a bird perch it would probably be a little dangerous. There wasn't too much damage done to her plants. There was one tall one that most of the stems snapped and one hosta leaf. As soon as it stopped raining enough for me to go out there on Friday I got most off the weight off. Those low growing mounding geraniums that she has bordering her entire garden(something like 300 plants) look a little flatter.
