Betty Skelly: Hi Kara, been awhile I did not come here. I was busy, we went back to FL again and we got lots of sunshine. We missed the flood here in Northwest but I am thankful that our house did not sunk. We live in a hill and the house was built 1 foot up the ground. I called my friend if we have flood but then it is only at the bridge about 2 miles away from my home. Glad everything went ok. How are you? Got a new book working again huh! cool!

Kara: Hey, Betty! Good to see you. I gotta have the sunshine or I get very depressed!

Blogging News

First, my apologies that the image on this blog isn't updated.  For some reason, I can't get my new book cover to display.  So while the copy above does say something about ONE STUBBORN TEXAN, with an arrow pointing to the cover, that's not the right cover.  I hope to get it straightened out.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to see my new cover, it's up at my website, www.karalennox.com.

More blogging news:  I actually have two blogs.  The other is at http://karalennox.blogspot.com.  It used to be an exact duplicate of this blog, but now I've changed it.  The new blog is "The You-Can-Do-It Blog," and it's all about making your dreams come true.  I hope to blog daily on something that will inspire you to believe in yourself, dream big, reach for the stars.

But don't worry, I'll still be blogging here about all the silly stuff--my house, my pets, my exercise, cooking, yoga, and food!  And, oh, yeah, my writing career (which sometimes moves so slowly I have to blog about other things).

I hope you'll check out the new blog.  Today I talk about my friend Becky MAKING THINGS HAPPEN.  It was inspiring to watch.  (It's about the first monthly meeting of the Mystery Writers of America Dallas sub-group, and Becky did it!)

Oh, one more thing:  THE TOUR DE FRANCE STARTED TODAY, WAHOO! I was pulling for my Swiss sweetheart, Fabian Cancellera, to win the prologue, and he did!  I was also pleased to see that my French sweetheart, Thomas Voeckler, is riding again this year.  I'm not sure who to cheer for to win overall, though.  I like Levi but I'm just not sure he's got it all together.  He did not sound confident when they interviewed him.  I like George Hincapie.  I would be thrilled if Oscar Ferreira won.  He was last year's surprise second-place winner who will possibly be named the official 2006 winner if Floyd Landis gets disqualified.

I think whoever wins, it will be a surprise.  Someone young like Frank Schleck or Markus Fothen.  I'll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to watch the race on TV!

Thanks for visiting,

Kara

Great covers, Kara - although, I do have to confess that I really prefer the one you have here to the one you want to use. But that's just my opinion.

I checked out your other blog, and it looks great. I hope you get lots of visitors, and I wish you every success with it. People don't always understand that it's okay to dream big, and I think it's wonderful that you've found a way to encourage a change of perception about that.

Holly--
I know it was a big day for me when I realized that I had more control over my life than I thought, and I gave myself permission to live my dream instead of working at a high-stress job I hated just to pay the bills.

I know, my new cover is ugly. Instead of ONE STUBBORN TEXAN, they should have called it ONE WIMPY JAUNDICED TEXAN. But, hey, I still want people to buy it!

ROFL at "one wimpy jaundiced Texan"

I'll buy it, Kara, in spite of the cover.
