In another life, I create and sell Memo-Pause(TM), the wearable notebook for the foxy but forgetful woman. Here are a few of the styles:
Today was so exciting. Sprinter Robbie McEwen, who was favored to win this stage, got involved in a crash just a few miles from the finish line. Some bikes in front of him piled up and he stopped, waiting for the road to clear, when someone behind him crashed into his bike and he went flying over the handlebars. Later he said he thought it was all over, thought he'd broken his wrist. But he got back on the bike and started peddling, hoping to at least finish the stage.
He was with a large group that fell behind the peleton. But his teammates were with him, and somehow he not only caught up with the main group, but in the span of about a minute he wove his way through 150+ riders back up to the front and came out of NOWHERE to zoom past the three or four guys who were duking it out and take the stage. It was amazing. He even surprised himself.
My man Fabian Cancellera remains in the yellow jersey for another day.
Today was Rob's birthday! I made him a cake (a sort of funny-looking, flat oatmeal almond cake that tastes okay). We went out to dinner to Hunky's. I would have taken him some place nicer, but he said he didn't want to. He hates fancy places, especially if it means he has to get dressed up in any way, shape or form.
Otherwise I was a complete bum today. Resting up for the conference, I guess.
