In another life, I create and sell Memo-Pause(TM), the wearable notebook for the foxy but forgetful woman. Here are a few of the styles:
... my poor cat has what my vet calls "creepy-crawly skin disease"--essentially skin allergies, which many cats and dogs get in this sort of weather just like people (meaning me) sneeze and have itchy eyes. I got her another steroid shot, which provides some limited relief.
Got the nails done, painted ice blue. Colored my hair. I was going for something new, but despite the fact the picture on the box looks quite different from my old color, it came out looking pretty much the same--brassy dark blond. But at least you can't see my roots (much)! Staying gorgeous gets more time-consuming with every passing year.
Oh, I almost forgot the highlight of the day--baby ducks! I watched them on the web cam. It was more interesting now that I've actually been to the place where the nest box is. They hatched yesterday and left the nest today. There was one little straggler in the box who just couldn't find his way out, and the crows were moving in, so Jen (nest box camera host) rushed out and rescued him. She chucked him into the pond with the other babies, and he seemed to be fine. About ten of the twenty eggs hatched, but many of them were laid by a second mother duck, possibly too late so that now they aren't fully incubated.
Wait, one more highlight--the Tour! My Swiss Sweetheart Fabian beat the sprinters out for a stage win! He looked a little dazed on the podium. All he was trying to do was protect his lead by not letting anyone cross the line too far ahead of him, but suddenly he was in the lead and he went for it. He is just so darn cute.
Okay, that's it for now. I may not blog the rest of the week because I will be at conference, probably running on not much sleep. But I might check in.
Oh, I have a blog at the Harlequin American Blog today (Wednesday) too. Relatively content free, but I hope you'll stop by. They'll be running a contest on that blog some time soon, giving away books.
Thank for visiting,
Kara
