Betty Skelly: Hi Kara, been awhile I did not come here. I was busy, we went back to FL again and we got lots of sunshine. We missed the flood here in Northwest but I am thankful that our house did not sunk. We live in a hill and the house was built 1 foot up the ground. I called my friend if we have flood but then it is only at the bridge about 2 miles away from my home. Glad everything went ok. How are you? Got a new book working again huh! cool!

Nose to grindstone

Today was my first real big-time writing day in a long time. I am digging deep into my revisions--lopping out whole scenes and writing new ones, researching details, sharpening dialogue and descriptions. I have been procrastinating big time about this--maybe because I am afraid to finish it and send it out into the world.

So many of my books started out with high hopes only to meet grisly fates in the hands of editors and agents, and even though I am SURE this one is my best one yet, am I just deluding myself?

Nah. It's brilliant.

I'm leaving in a few minutes to pick up Rob at the airport. I have missed him a lot this week.
